Lecture: A digital presentation will provide an opportunity for the visitors to familiarise themselves with a brief history of head covers. The presentation is divided into three subcategories. The first one is a chronological overview of head covers from prehistoric times until today. The second subcategory focuses on our Slovak environment and head cover variations within folk costumes. The third part covers contemporary styles and modern garments. A selection of samples from world famous fashion houses will present their bold designer creations.

11:30am – 1:30pm
Workshop: The workshop participants will be tasked to create an arbitrary designer head cover inspired by samples presented in the lecture. They will be made of a paper whose properties make it easy to mould and keep its shape. For final adjustments and decorations, there will be textiles, cloths, ribbons, laces, buttons, beads… As the covers will be made of paper, they can be further coloured with crayons or markers. The head cover can be accompanied by a matching paper dress.
