a selection of prominent Czech art from the second half of the 20th century...
(Glimpses from the Bible of Visuality) #1
Czech and Slovak Female Artists over 65
The exhibition introduces its visitors to Slovak contemporary art using a topic that everyone can relate to. Diverse creative approaches of the artists offer a completely different perspective on fashion, on what we wear and what we want to express by doing so – simply, on who we are.
The exhibition The Dimension of Theatricality curated by Vendula Fremlova was originally prepared for the Gallery of Emil Filla in Ústí and Labem where it was opened from the end of 2012 to the beginning of the year of 2013. The subsequent show in the Nitra Gallery is larger. There are also presentations of selected Slovak artists who work with similar topics such as András Cséfalvay, Mira Gáberová, Olja Triaška Stefanovič, Zuzana Žabková. The curator of the text accompanying the original concept of the exhibition is Barbora Geržová.
The project is accomplished with the support of the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA).
The mutual exhibition project maps the moments that in the works of both authors during the search for and in the process of defining human identity overlap and enable mutual communication (or as a case may be confrontation).
Dorota Sadovská’s monographic exhibition is based on a selection of works that are not time limited but rather are characteristic of her art.
The international exhibition project We’ll Try It through Space is a lively, partly serious, partly witty selection of various artistic approaches that includes photographs, videos, objects, sound and interactive installations, or even real research equipment.
