Juraj Meliš was born on July 13^th 1948 in Nové Zámky. In 1960 – 1966 he studied at the AFAD (Prof. Jozef Kostka), where he taught since 1990. In 1999 – 2002 he was the Head of the Department of Sculpture, in 1992 he became a professor. In 1989 he co-founded the association Gerulata.
