Good Hunt!

This full-color, Slovak-English catalog published on the occasion of the exhibition “Good Hunt!“, which took place at the Representative Halls from 22.9. until 20.11.2011, is not just an ordinary documentation of the exhibited artworks. The author of its graphic design Marek Kianička presents on 64 pages his own view of the artworks chosen by the curator Omar Mirza and puts them in new contexts.

The exhibition “Good Hunt!” situated in the rutting period offered an attractive view of contemporary visual arts, where grunting bucks, hunting trophies, scenes from the nature and similar motifs still have the ability to communicate with a very current, humorous and ironical language.

The show had several levels of meaning based on phenomena such as trophy hunting, hunting passion, taxidermy, kitsch, do-it-yourself, man’s relationship to nature, or the relationship between the audience, the artwork, and its creator.
