Final Exhibition: Anyone Can Create!

Nitra Gallery has prepared the final exhibition for the project Anyone Can Create! (2024) which presents works created by workshop participants. This educational project has been a part of Nitra Gallery’s portfolio since 2009 and focused mainly on seniors, the partially sighted, blind and students of special needs primary schools. 

In 2024, the project has continued the tradition of creative workshops for the gallery visitors with special needs and for the second time, it focused on seniors and visually impaired people. 

During the summer and autumn months, all of the educational activities took place at our studios, Nitra Gallery’s exhibition spaces and the exterior premises of the County House. The workshops focused on various creative techniques, like cyanotype, drawing, spray-painting, printmaking, textile collages, modelling, ceramics and Batik Shibori. 

Themed workshops for seniors and the partially sighted took place between June and November 2024. They focused on creative work with cyanotype, drawing, painting and ceramics while the participants also had an opportunity to model reliefs, work with enamel paints or spray paints. The program for students of special needs primary schools, which took place between September and November 2024, included textile collages, tie-dye techniques, drawings, cyanotype, modelling and other creative techniques. 

The final exhibition presents the results of months-long efforts and creativity of the participants while focusing on the aesthetic expression and ability to overcome boundaries through art. The visitors have a unique opportunity to admire the final pieces which blend different approaches, techniques and perspectives. The exhibition thus presents a unique experience that connects art and inclusion.
