A Visible Shift with the subtitle The Scene of the Act is the continuation of successful exhibition „A Visible Shift“ that took place in the gallery Artotéka in October 2007 in Bratislava.

In spite of the fact that both of the authors studied at the Department of Photography at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, at the exhibition there aren´t any photographs but site-specific installations, videos and objects.

With a fair amount of irony and gallows humour they play with the perception of the visitor entangled in the net of peculiar plays with reality, fiction, the space of the gallery and the story of the exhibition.

The artists uses the communication means for visually handicapped people (e.g. Braille letters) and work with the themes of blind people´s perception of the world. The aim of the artists according to their words is „ not to adjust the world of blind people to ours but vice versa our world adjust to their world. They considered it with the detached point of view and „do not work with it for any charitable or pathetic purposes“.

The exhibition is full of inconcrete hints and hidden details which at first sight visitors might not find and miss some indications that can help in decoding of the mistery that happened in the gallery…

So what has actually happended? How will it turn out at the end? We will see…
