Designed for students integrated into primary schools and for special needs primary and secondary schools (8 – 18 years old) from the Nitra region and its surrounding areas.

What kind of objects depicted still lifes of the past? What would today’s still lifes look like? As a part of this program, we will try and create a still life that expresses ourselves. The Realm of Karol Baron / Surrealistic Atlas
The participants will have the opportunity to create their own surrealistic atlas of plants, animals and creatures of the earthly and underground realms, inspired by the work of the Slovak surrealistic artist Karol Baron. The main creative activity will focus on modelling (clay, engobes, stains, etc.). An educational program for the exhibition The World of Karol Baron.

Dream Textile Figurines/Create Your Own Surrealistic World
The main focus will be on creating simple textile figurines, enhancing fine motor skills and creativity. Children will design simple figurines inspired by Karol Baron’s surrealistic creatures. They will draw them on paper and decide which parts will be made of different textiles (cloth, felt, wool). An educational program for the exhibition The World of Karol Baron.

Hats of All Sizes
The focus will be on creating headgear of different sizes and bizarre shapes, inspired by the work of the Slovak surrealistic artist Karol Baron. The main creative activity will focus on creating a spatial object (made from polyester fleece or an alternative material). An educational program for the exhibition The World of Karol Baron.

Colourful World of Cloth/Painting on Textile
Children will experiment with colours on textile, paint simple shapes and patterns on cloth that will be later used as decorations or simple objects (e.g. a scarf, tablecloth…). An educational program for the exhibition Tereza Darášová.

Cheerful Little Cars/A Graphic Story
Each student will create a series of prints that will morph into a simple narrative. They will be able to present their graphic stories at the end of the session. An educational program for the exhibition Tereza Darášová.

Cyanotype
The photography workshop will showcase a unique historic photography technique called cyanotype. It is also commonly referred to as photographic blueprint. By reducing the colour range to white and blue, you will be able to create dream compositions. It will be based on using different unconventional materials in the process, like salt. We will apply the solution to paper or canvas of your own choice. At the end, students will be able to create their own unique, handmade prints.
