Nitra Gallery’s extensive exhibition titled Copy (20) Ride will present the latest works of 26 contemporary Slovak and Czech visual artists who have graduated from departments of graphic art, sculpture and spacial media or they work as educators. The selection includes authors from the anniversary Faculty of Fine Arts at the Academy or Arts in Banská Bystrica (founded in 1997). Its artists present various works of graphic art, painting, drawing, objects and intermedia art. The visiting partner schools include the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. They present a selection of graphics and paintings created by their graduates and educators.

The exhibition title invokes the principle of multiplication in visual art as well the theme of the creative “ride” the anniversary Faculty of Fine Arts at the Academy or Arts in Banská Bystrica took over the last 20 years of its existence. The exhibition offers its audience a wide spectrum of various approaches and strategies of contemporary art. It focuses on the media of graphics and its cross-media variations as well as the current forms of sculpture and spacial media. These are included in the selection of works by six artistic and educational personalities from the Department of Sculpture and Spacial Art at FFA AA in Banská Bystrica. The exhibition connects the work of the current educators of visual art with the work of their former students, now autonomous personalities of the young Slovak and Czech art scene. The intergenerational relationship creates a new way of reading the scene in the form of current evolutionary transformations of not just visual media and technologies, but also language and themes that dominate the art of the youngest generation.
