The curatorial project for a collective of artists takes a form and it is going to be accomplished on December 19, in Bunker, in the premises of the Nitra Gallery. Four artistic pairs prepared the communicational etudes on the topic of their own co/existence as pairs.
The pairs of authors were selected because they are known as collaborators working together either as artistic duos or collectives. In this project, however, they communicate with one another on the basis of their own non-collaboration and thus create artifacts of possible sites of interaction. Each artistic duo prepared a specific project for this exhibition aiming to point to the communication problems among close, however, at the same time distinct entities.
The idea of the exhibition comes from our desire to communicate and explore new civilizations or as a case may be to preserve the signs of our own existence for future generations of terrestrials by sending research probes and signals to space. The exhibition symbolically refers to the two worlds, two people that form a pair during the exhibition, however, are not the one. That is why each one of them creates a signal sent into the world for the other one.
The project of multimedia artists from Austria (M1 + 1) is their first exhibition in Slovakia. Their project is about doubled identities. They understand it as an imaginary trip into the unexplored fields of art from various perspectives. Their journeys in a certain moment intersect and they let their alter egos wander further on. Nothings is set in advance, nobody knows how the voyage is going to end.
The collective of artists and the author of the exhibition idea MiroslavaMauréry will try to interpret their intention within the process of duration of their exhibition.
